Makenzy Schick

Makenzy is originally from Iowa, and graduated from Gull Lake High School in Richland, Michigan. Her interest in physical therapy started as a high school athlete while rehabilitating from two knee (ACL) surgeries. Makenzy graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Human Physiology, a minor in Aging and Longevity Studies, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (2022). Makenzy started working for First Rehab in the summer of 2024. She is certified in functional dry needling level 1 and has special interests in orthopedics, injury prevention, healthy aging, and temporomandibular disorder. Makenzy is dedicated to providing compassionate care that serves the personalized needs and goals of every patient to help foster healing and wellness. Outside of the clinic, Makenzy is often on the move. She spends her free time hiking, playing racquet sports, wake surfing, paddle boarding, supporting Hawkeye football, and spending time with loved ones. She also enjoys a good cup of coffee and playing with her cat Pumba.
