Cody is originally from Nashville, Michigan and a graduate of Maple Valley High School. He completed his BA in Athletic Training in 2015 at Hope College. Cody worked as an athletic trainer for Maple Valley schools for one year, prior to becoming a physical therapist. He graduated from the Andrews University Doctor of Physical Therapy program after completing his final 10-week clinical affiliation with First Rehab & Sport during the summer of 2020. Cody currently works as a full-time physical therapist at our Hastings location. He also is certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Cody has a strong interest in outpatient orthopedic and sports performance physical therapy with an emphasis in manual therapy and strength and conditioning. In the future he aims to obtain certifications in orthopedic manual therapy (COMT) and spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) through the Aspire Orthopedic Manual Therapy Institute. He hopes to complete an orthopedic residency program post-graduate, obtain the Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) certification, and continue on to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). In his free time, Cody enjoys hunting, fishing, lifting weights/working out, and spending time with his family.
